Invited Lunch
Parents/Guardians and community members are invited for lunch and encouraged to attend to show support for each of our students.
Please keep gum, candy, and sunflower seeds at home.
Participation in athletics
Students participating in athletics are required to have a physical exam and health insurance before participating in WIAA activities. Enrollment information for student insurance is sent home during the start of each school year.
Positive Reinforcement and End of the Month Honor Awards
Teachers are encouraged to reinforce good behavior by working with individual classes to earn an appropriate class-wide reward. Individual report cards, attendance and honor roll recognition, the acknowledgement of special effort or accomplishment all can and should be used as often as possible to provide positive reinforcement to individual students. The last day of each month at 1:45 to 2:20, the Oakville School will hold an Awards Assembly in the cafeteria to recognize outstanding students in grades K-12.
Principal’s 200 Club
Students are given positive reinforcement through our ‘Safe and Civil Schools’’ Principal 200 Club.
Teacher Credentials
The “No Child Left Behind” Federal Legislation requires that we notify parents annually regarding information about the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher(s). Parents are also notified 12 days prior to the start of each school year whether the school is in AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress).
Use of School Facilities
The school gym and other parts of the building are available for use by the community when not being used by students. Arrangements for use should be made at least 10 days before the scheduled event. For information regarding use of the facilities, contact Sandy Tuengel at (360) 273-0171 to complete a required building agreement document.
